I’m a growth-focused business leader with over two decades of experience driving strategic expansion, building high-performing teams, and positioning organizations for long-term success. My expertise was built through years of leading multimillion-dollar initiatives, developing strong business relationships, and forming strategic partnerships that create measurable growth and operational efficiency.
 
I leverage my deep understanding of business development, capital strategy, and organizational leadership to help clients achieve greater financial alignment and sustainability. Unity Financial Resources was established to provide strategic financial consulting, resource planning, and business growth solutions that empower organizations to reach their next level of performance.
 
My background in functionalizing businesses — transforming vision into structured, revenue-generating operations — is central to Unity’s mission. My experience in guiding diverse teams, aligning financial strategies with long-term business goals, and optimizing performance through data-driven decision-making provides the foundation for the firm’s consultative approach.
 
In my current role, I’ll oversees client engagement, and partnership development. I’ll work directly with business owners, executives, and leaders to design tailored financial frameworks that support scalability, profitability, and resilience.
 
Beyond business, I’m deeply committed to community impact. I currently serve= as Board Chair of Humble Design Detroit, leading initiatives that furnish homes for families emerging from homelessness, newly elected board member to the National Business League, Advisor to the Board of Directors for Winning Futures, mentoring students and supporting workforce readiness programs.
 
A respected member of the Detroit Athletic Club, where I have contributed to committee service. Based in Northville, Michigan, I enjoy golf, travel, music, and time with family and close friends.

Vice President of Sales | Results Driven | Visionary

Jim Pappas is a dynamic and seasoned leader with 35 years of experience driving strategic growth, financial performance, and operational excellence across industries, including equipment financing, real estate, and network infrastructure. As Chief Operating Officer (COO), he oversees the financial strategy, capital management, and corporate development initiatives that support long-term business objectives.

Jim is renowned for his analytical rigor, leadership, and successful growth of an Industrial Financing Company to over $85 million in new originations annually.

Jim resides in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where he was raised and continues to reside. He is a father of three and cherishes spending time with his family and close friends. Outside of his professional endeavors, Jim enjoys outdoor activities such as squash, sailboat racing, exploring music, traveling, attending Greek Orthodox Church services, and organizing charity events to introduce youth to Michigan outdoor activities, including fishing.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Marketing from the University of Dayton.

Stephanie Kouloumberis leads the company operations team to consistently deliver seamless experiences from credit approval, documentation and funding. Stephanie has held multiple leadership and licensed positions in finance, retail branding and program management of divestiture management offices. A Wayne State University alumni and proud Eastside resident, Stephanie enjoys Michigan native plant gardening, baking, live music and European travel.

Lauren Mellos

Operations and Credit

Lauren is responsible for credit review, documentation, funding, and overall customer support. She graduated from Wayne State University with a BS in Marketing and enjoyed being downtown Detroit during her studies. With 3 years of experience in the finance industry and a creative background in Photoshop editing, she assists with generating marketing campaigns, advertising, etc. Lauren has a deep understanding of urgency and is eager to assist with any transaction. Her favorite hobbies include music festivals, pottery, being with friends/family, and disc golf.

Mackenzie Hayes

Operations and Credit

Mackenzie is responsible for processing credit applications, analyzing financials, processing documents and handling customer inquiries. She has 7 years of experience in the Equipment Finance industry and has worked in a variety of fields such as Underwriting, Documentation, Marketing and more. Mackenzie graduated from Western Carolina University in 2018 and holds degrees in Management and Marketing. She currently resides in the mountains of Western North Carolina and enjoys golfing and being outdoors with her dog.
